About

With the first hard snap of the shutter I knew I had found a better way to look at the world. I first started taking pictures near the end of my time at College, hopeful to capture the beautiful things ahead. I chose to shoot on film because I wanted to learn to take pictures through careful intentionality, rather than play a numbers game of snapping pictures until one turned out right. As a graduation gift my grandfather gifted me his Minolta x700, a film camera he had kept in near-perfect condition. To this day it is still my favorite camera to take with me on a short trip or pull apart when explaining to a new hobbyist how Shutter speed, Aperture and ISO dance together to turn light into photographs.

I am a firm believer that pictures are tools to tell stories, and that’s what I hope to do; tell the story of myself and others through tiny little snapshots. For me this is often done through exploring and highlighting the beauty in small and often overlooked aspects of life. A significant amount of our cultural moment is marked by a ravenous consumption of quick content, and I’d like to draw us back to things our attention frequently neglects.

I hope that my photos give you space to slow down and find yourself embodied in a world of incredible wonder.

Hello,

My name is Seth, and I like to take pictures. Much of my photography exists to help myself celebrate the things that make life beautiful. Maybe they can help you celebrate the beautiful things too. Thanks for dropping by.
